About

Professor Perelli-Harris is interested in studying changes in the family in comparative perspective. Working with researchers across Europe, the USA and Australia, she uses demographic techniques, advanced quantitative methods, in-depth qualitative approaches, and policy analysis to explore the underlying reasons for the development of new family formation behaviours. She is the PI of the Generations and Gender Survey in the UK

She has a long-standing interest in studying demographic trends in Ukraine. Recently she has collaborated with colleagues to study Internally Displaced Persons, depopulation, and fertility in Ukraine. Publications include articles on the triple burden of depopulation in Ukraine (Vienna Yearbook of Population Research), the household composition of refugees since Russia’s invasion (Migration Research Series), and a chapter on demographic crisis in a report on Ukraine's post-war recovery (Universities UK International).
