About
I'm an Associate Professor in philosophy at the University of Southampton working on issues in philosophical logic, philosophy of language, metaphysics, and aesthetics. I'm also Editor of Analysis (with David Liggins and Stacie Friend); Treasurer of the British Society of Aesthetics; and a member of the executive committee of the Aristotelian Society.
I was lucky enough to have been a British Academy Mid-Career Fellow (2016/17), and a junior fellow at the Institute for Advanced Study, CEU, Budapest (2015). Before joining Southampton in 2013, I taught for two years at Somerville College, Oxford. Previously, I took an MA, MPhil, and PhD in Philosophy at University College London.
You can update this in Pure (opens in a new tab). Select ‘Edit profile’. Under the heading and then ‘Curriculum and research description’, select ‘Add profile information’. In the dropdown menu, select - ‘About’.
Write about yourself in the third person. Aim for 100 to 150 words covering the main points about who you are and what you currently do. Clear, simple language is best. You can include specialist or technical terms.
You’ll be able to add details about your research, publications, career and academic history to other sections of your staff profile.
