Dr Stephen Lim is a Principal Clinical Research Fellow and Honorary Consultant in Geriatric Medicine in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Southampton.
I completed my medical studies at the University of Southampton in 2010 and continued my medical training within the Wessex deanery. I undertook research looking at interventions to increase physical activity among hospitalised older people and completed my PhD in 2018. Here’s a summary of my PhD People's Choice, Three Minute Thesis '18. I was appointed NIHR Clinical Lecturer in Geriatric Medicine in 2018 and was awarded an NIHR Advanced Fellowship in 2022. I am actively involved as a member of the British Geriatrics Society and served as chair of the BGS Trainees Council from 2017-2019. My research interests are in physical activity, nutrition, deconditioning and sarcopenia.
