About
Becki has worked in academic development at the university since 2016. She worked in Widening Participation and Social Mobility as part of the award-winning pre-entry initiative, the Learn with US Transition Programme. Since the start of 2023, she has worked in the Centre for Higher Education Practice, focused on academic development of Postgraduate Researchers.
In addition to this, Becki researches aesthetic procedures. She is broadly interested in how non-surgical treatments - like Botox and dermal fillers - are routinised in 'everyday' (gendered) aesthetic practices. She is currently working on a project about how aesthetic practitioners in the UK experience entrepreneurship(s) in an industry with little current regulation.
