Cherish is the recipient of two consecutive NIHR Fellowships and specialises in optimising the conduct of research, with a particular focus on enhancing the experience of research participants. Her current research programme addresses key questions about improving participant engagement in decentralised and digitally-enabled studies. Using primarily qualitative methods, Cherish develops interventions to improve trial conduct, including recruitment and retention strategies, often through Studies Within A Trial (SWAT). These interventions span a wide portfolio of medicinal, behavioural, and surgical clinical trials.
Cherish is part of several trial methodology groups, including the Trials Methdology Research Partnership (TMRP) and Trial Forge SWAT (Studies Within A Trial) Network which functions to answer the top priority questions about how we conduct clinical and health research.
Cherish is also a member of the Research on Research (RoR) Registry and Hub advisory group, offering strategic advice and supporting the growth of a registry which aims to develop a community focused on research funding, delivery and evaluation (Research on Research - Research on Research Hub (ror-hub.org)).
