Dr Ahmad Alshehabi is a Lecturer in Accounting based in Southampton Business School at the University of Southampton. Ahmad holds a PhD degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Birmingham. He also has a postgraduate certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education (PGCAP) accredited against the UK Professional Standards Framework, and he is recognised by the UK Higher Education Academy (HEA) as a Fellow.

Current research
Ahmad is an active researcher in accounting with a particular focus on accounting diversity across countries, and he has published in International Business Review (ABS-3); the Journal of International Accounting, Auditing and Taxation (ABS-3); Review of Quantitative Finance & Accounting (ABS-3); Journal of Contemporary Accounting & Economics (ABS-2 & ABDC-A). Ahmad’s main research area concerns embedding accounting within its national context. His philosophy is to incorporate as many interdisciplinary perspectives as possible into accounting research. Ahmad is currently working on several projects, covering a broad range of scholarly interests, including research on ancestral culture and earnings management.
Ahmad is also an ad hoc reviewer for a number of international academic journals including, International Journal of Finance and Economics; Technological Forecasting and Social Change: An International Journal; International Journal of Accounting Auditing and Performance Evaluation; and Journal of International Financial Management & Accounting).

Teaching
Ahmad has taught several accounting and finance modules for undergraduate and postgraduate students including Accounting and Finance for Business, Financial Decision Making, Corporate Finance, and Financial Analysis for Managers, with additional experience in the teaching of specialist and core subjects such as International Financial Reporting and Contemporary Accounting Issues.

Biography
Dr Ahmad Alshehabi is a Lecturer in Accounting at the University of Southampton. Prior to joining the University of Southampton, Ahmad taught at Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University in China, Canterbury Christ Church University (CCCU), and the University of Birmingham. Ahmad is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, an external examiner at the University of Law in London for serval PG/UG modules, and he is also the Subject Chair at CCCU, who takes the responsibility for the quality assurance processes relevant to the delivery and assessment of several modules for the university's partners in Greece, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong, and London.
