About us

Find out more about our work.

Our aim is  equipping robots with the ability to:

  • perceive and understand the world around them
  • act with precision and agility
  • engage and collaborate with humans in a transparent and trustworthy manner

By embedding principles of trustworthy, responsible and safe AI, we aim to develop robots that are dependable, transparent, and aligned with human values.

We are a cross-cutting catalyst that brings together expertise across computer science, electronics, and engineering, such as:

  • sensing and smart materials
  • computer vision and machine hearing
  • deep learning
  • uncertainty quantification
  • reinforcement learning
  • control theory
  • human-robot interaction
  • swarm robotics

Building on electronics and computer science (ECS) expertise in trustworthy and responsible artificial intelligence (AI) as well as cybersecurity and verification, the scope of our research embeds assurance, safety and security, such as verification of machine learning systems embedded onboard robotic systems.
