Housing Possession During the Pandemic

Project overview

This ESRC funded project assessed the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on housing possession cases in England and Wales and the effectiveness of the court system’s response. The nine-month project gathered unique data from occupiers threatened with eviction and the legal practitioners who advise them. The findings offered an assessment of the effectiveness of the new initiatives and considered which, if any, of the new rules should be retained in the post-pandemic era.
