Our undergraduate medical students will be exposed to the full range of clinical practice both in the community and in specialised centres. Our courses benefit from being embedded in research excellence in areas as diverse as public health, allergy, cancer, genomics, osteoporosis and nutrition. Our undergraduate offering includes a widening participation degree, giving you the chance to fulfil your medical potential whatever your background. As Director of Undergraduate Programmes, I work with our medicine programmes to provide a high quality learning experience. I'm committed to helping staff and students reach their full potential.
I lead the BM6 medicine course, a programme designed to widen participation in medicine. My research focuses on diet and its links with immune function, inflammatory status, immunosenescence and the gut microbiome.
I have a keen interest and passion for supporting students with mental health difficulties, which forms a large part of my work. I work hard at prompting positive mental health and encouraging students to seek support at the earliest opportunity.
