As Associate Professor at the University of Southampton and Education Environment Lead & Podiatrust, Southampton Central PCN, Lindsey leads the Personalised Care research programme, within the Long Term Conditions Research group. The programmes' focus is on integration of research, education, and clinical improvement via personalisation of care to promote active living and mobility for people living with long term conditions.
Lindsey completed her PhD in the epidemiology of rheumatic foot disease and has since remained active in the field authoring several textbook chapters and contributing to various international, longitudinal cohort studies. Lindsey's research portfolio has expanded to include mixed methodology and studies leading to workforce transformation and implementation of innovation across health and care settings.
Lindsey teaches into undergraduate and post-graduate programmes across the School of Health Sciences. In recognition of her research, leadership and teaching excellence Lindsey has been awarded Fellowship of the UK Higher Education Authority and Fellowship of the Faculty of Podiatric Medicine in the Royal College of Surgeons and Physicians (Glasgow). In 2023 Lindsey was presented with an Academic Achievement award from the Royal College of Podiatry, at a House of Lords award ceremony.
Lindsey is on the editorial board of the international Journal of Foot and Ankle Research and UK National Institute for Health, Health Technologies Assessment, funding prioritisation committee for integrated health and social care. Lindsey is past Chair-elect of the European League Against Rheumatism Foot and Ankle Study group and current Co-Convenor for the British Society for Rheumatology Foot & Ankle specialist interest group.
