Dr Renata Konadu joined the Southampton Business School in September 2021 as a Lecturer in Accounting and Finance with about seven years of experience in international and national teaching and research.
Renata has contributed to, developed, assessed, lectured and tutored various UG and PG modules including Corporate Reporting, Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Corporate Governance, Investment Analysis, Environmental Accounting, International Development in Accounting, Governance and Sustainability and Governance and Social Responsibility.

Current research
Renata's recent research interests are mainly on topics relating to sustainability reporting, sustainable development and corporate governance. Renata has publications in high rating Journals such of Business Strategy and the Environment; Corporate Governance: The International Journal of Business and Society and International Journal of Disclosure and Governance. She has presented her research at international and national conferences, workshops and seminars and won funding by the British Council/Newton Fund Researcher Links to attend workshop on Climate Change Finance in Brazil.
Renata has supervised 3 PhD students and numerous Masters’ and UG dissertations. She is an ad-hoc reviewer for high ranked journals such as British Journal of Management, International Review of Financial Analysis among others.
Renata is currently involved in two funded projects where she helps SMEs to prepare their sustainability reports according to GRI Standards and also part of the team developing the National Corporate Governance Code for Ghana.

Biography
Prior to joining the Southampton Business School in September 2021, Renata was a Lecturer at De Montfort University. Before then, she also worked as Part Time Lecturer at Bournemouth University and University of East London. She became a Fellow of Higher Education Academy (HEA) in 2017 and a Certified Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Professional. She holds a PhD from Bournemouth University, MSc from Stirling University and BSc from University of Professional Studies, Accra, Ghana. She is a member of British Accounting and Finance Association (BAFA), British Academy of Management, Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).
